About

Dermatologist based in Pune, India. MD Dermatology from the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad (2016–2019), MBBS from Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai (2009–2015). Post-residency training in autologous fat grafting with Dr Mario Goisis (Milan), Dr Nilesh Goyal (Mumbai), and Dr Steven Cohen (San Diego); in ablative-laser work for acne scars with Dr Asif Hussain (London, 2024); in the Taylor Liberator and broader laser dermatology with Dr Mark Taylor (Salt Lake City, 2022); and in foam sclerotherapy with Dr N. Radhakrishnan (Kerala). The full training catalogue and mentor list is on the About page.

Clinical work

My current focus is on acne scars and fat grafting — areas where treatment typically combines several techniques per patient, calibrated to skin type and severity. For acne scars specifically, the plan is a layered combination of release (Taylor Liberator + subcision), volume restoration (microfat as both intradermal spacer and biological signal), full ablation with the Lumenis UltraPulse and Fotona SP Dynamis, and collagen stimulation — sequenced and parameter-calibrated for Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin. Earlier in my career I worked extensively in hair restoration and phlebology, and both remain part of the practice at lower volume.

Building

Alongside the clinical work, I'm developing clinical AI for dermatology under an initiative called CSHMD. The pipeline is layered — image-based severity grading, segmentation for diffuse conditions like melasma and vitiligo, lesion-level detection for acne and post-inflammatory pigmentation, plus consultation-intelligence work on transcribed clinical conversations. The aim is decision-support and progress-tracking tooling that operates inside real clinical workflows, with particular depth on Indian skin (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) which most public dermatology AI under-represents. Building from inside an active practice — rather than from outside the way most clinical-AI ventures do — changes both what the system is good at and how its mistakes get caught.

Talks, papers & awards

I've spoken at international and national conferences across Italy, Argentina, the Philippines, the United States, Poland, Egypt, Bangladesh, and across India — most often on combination acne-scar treatment, autologous fat grafting (microfat & nanofat), low-concentration high-volume foam sclerotherapy, regional nerve blocks for dermatosurgery, and hair transplantation in advanced grades of baldness. Recent invitations include ASDS 2024 (American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Orlando) and BSLMS 2025. Most of my published research dates from residency and the years immediately after — dermoscopy of spongiotic disorders, frictional facial melanosis as a new clinical entity, and hair-transplantation techniques. Awards include the S.L. Wadhwa Award for the foam sclerotherapy work and the Young Dermatologist Dermoscopy Contribution Award at the Asia Pacific Summit on Dermoscopy.
